With this film, we hope to better explain what will take place when your child undergoes this treatment to you and, if you choose, to your child. Sometimes, the PFT machine is a small chamber with transparent walls and a seat inside. You will instruct your child to put on a nose plug and blow through a plastic mouthpiece attached to the device. Both the volume of air sucked in and the force with which it is exhaled are measured by the device. To acquire an accurate reading, your child may probably be required to retake the test several times.
